Effect of different phosphate and bicarbonate concentrations on iron absorption in camphor tree seedlings was studied in sand culture experiment.Through analyzing fresh weight, dry weight, water content, iron content of shoot and root, dry root shoot ratio and fresh root shoot ratio of the camphor tree seedlings,it showed that optimal phosphate concentration for the growth of the camphor tree seedlings was 0.1 mmol/L,and its suitable phosphate concentrations ranged from 0.1 mmol/L to 1.0 mmol/L.When phosphate concentration was 1 mmol/L,the growth inhibition was observed, and when the phosphate concentration was 10 mmol/L,this inhibition was more significant compared with control. For the bicarbonate concentration, when it was 10 mmol/L,the growth was unaffected, the growth inhibition was observed when 20 mmol/L was applied and more significant inhibition was found when the concentration was 30 mmol/L.
