Tremella fuciformis spores were used as new type bioreactor to produce foreign medical protein. At the same time the polysaccharides of T. fuciformis spores had many medical functions for human. The yields of spores and polysaccharides of T. fuciformis were determined under different conditions including different p H value, nitrogen sources, carbon sources and other medium components for exploring the effects of all kinds of conditions on the yields of spores and polysaccharides. The results showed the optimum p H, carbon and nitrogen sources for producing the maximum polysaccharide yield were respectively p H 5,maltose and Na NO3. Among the change of single factor, the yields of spores and polysaccharides were highest respectively 13.8 g/100 m L and 145.31 mg/100 m L. The production of exopolysaccharides( EPS) was higher using sucrose as carbon source and NH4 Cl as nitrogen source. The low nitrogen content and high inorganic salts content were to benefit of spores production and polysaccharides, especially the production of EPS.
