In order to provide scientific reference for seawall greening & constructing coastal protective forests in Jiangsu province, moisture content, salinity & atmosphere etc.of seawall slope were analyzed.Conferring about the forest test of seawall slope, growth adaptability of Salix babylonica,Amorpha fruticosa,Forsythia viridissima,Robinia pseudoacacia,Melia azedarach,Sabina virginiana have been evaluated.Result shows that:(1) the soil of seawall slope was from medium to intense saline soil, and the soil moisture content have a seasonal variation;sea fog & sea wind are extremely important factors in the site condition of seawall slope;(2) the seawall site condition is fit for few trees;drought resistant, salt resistant & wind resistant trees should be selected;(3) the experimental trees have different characteristics of stress & adaptability.Different trees have different adaptabilities under the stress from sea fog & sea wind. The adaptability of test trees upon the seawall environment in September was in turn: Robinia pseudoacacia>Melia azedarach>Amorpha fruticosa>Salix babylonica >Forsythia viridissima.
