A field experiment was conducted to study the effects of new soil amendment applied to the potato(Solanum tuberosum) planting in the lime concretion black soil of Lunan region. The results showed that the application of soil amendment could decrease the bulk density of 0~20 cm soil layer by 0.12 g/cm3,increase the soil porosity, soil moisture and pH value by4.1%,3.1% and 0.53,respectively. The soil amendment also could contribute to improve the contents of soil organic matter by7.55 g/kg,available nitrogen by 30.77 mg/kg,available phosphor by 6.97 mg/kg and available kalium by 65.33 mg/kg.In the meantime, the agronomic characters of potato such as plant height, fresh weight and stem thick biological base all have significant correlation. Proportionately, both the yield and commodity rate of potato also increased by 24.4% and 12.9%.However,the amount of chemical fertilizer could be reduced by 25%,and the production costs may be saved by RMB 1 050 yuan/hm2.
