Breeding and Characteristics Performance of Wanmai 606,A New Variety of Wheat( Triticum aestivum Linn.) with High Resistance to Fusarium Head Blight

[Objective]The aim was to discuss the popularization value and application potentiality of Wanmai 606,a new variety of wheat with high resistance to Fusarium head blight( FHB).[Method]The breeding process of Wanmai 606 was introduced,and its main characteristics,yield performance,quality,adaptation range and utilization prospect were analyzed,and finally its cultivation pints were summed up. [Result]Wanmai 606 was bred by Recurrent Selection with Dwarfing Sterile Wheat in Crops Research Institute of Anhui Academy of Agricultural Sciences. It showed spring habit with high yield range from 6 to 7. 5 t/hm2,high resistance to FHB and best adapt to the reaches of the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River. Wanmai 606 had strong resistance to FHB and had stronger dominant as wheat after rice with no premature senility,long awn,white shell and red grain,half part of cutin,turning into color good in later stage,and its plant height was around 88 cm,1 000-grain weight was 40g to 42g. Its suitable sowing time was from the third ten days of October to the first and second ten days of November,and the basic seedlings kept in 180 × 104-270 × 104per hm2. [Conclusion]Wanmai 606 has characteristics of outstanding traits, high yield,good quality,and has wide application prospect in the Huaihe River and the Yangtze River.
