The content of Hg,As,Pb and Cd and their transferring rule among soil, grass and livestock in three alpine grasslands(Gonghe,Henan and Qilian Conuties) in Qinghai were analyzed. The results showed that the Hg content of soil in Henan and Gonghe county, and the Cd content in Qilian County was above the limit level;while and the other was consistent with the requirement of environmental quality standard for soil. The content of Hg,As,Pb and Cd in grass and musculature of yak and sheep was also consistent with the requirements of the hygienic standards for feed. There was no significant correlationship between the Pb content in the musculature of yak and sheep and in the soil and grass(P>0.05),as well as the Hg and As content in the grass(P>0.05).The Hg and Cd content in the musculature of yak was significantly correlated with those in the soil and grass(P <0.05).The significant correlationship also laid in the As content in the musculature of sheep and in soil and grass(P<0.05).Viewing from the total transferring coefficient of the heavy metal, the highest coefficient was of Hg;the second one was of As.The transferring coefficient of Hg and As into the musculature of sheep was higher than those into the musculature of yak.The lowest transferring coefficient into the musculature of yak and sheep was of Cd.
