[Objective] The aim was to study the effects of total extract of Dactyicapnos scandens Hutch on the naloxone-precipitated withdrawal syndrome in morphine dependent mice.[Method] Mice were given increasing doses of morphine to produce a physical dependence. Then the withdrawal syndrome precipitated by naloxone was observed 40 min after total extract Dactyicapnos scandens Hutch were given.[Result] At the dose of 150,300 and 600 mg/kg,total extract Dactyicapnos scandens Hutch reduced jumping of mice(P<0.05),significantly inhibited writhing of mice(P<0.01) and inhibited body weight loss of mice(P<0.05) while the 300 and 600 mg/kg dose had significant inhibition(P<0.01).At the dose of 150 and 300 mg/kg,total extracts reduced scratch face action of mice(P<0.05).The moderate dose group had significant outcome(P<0.01).However,the dose of 600 mg/kg could not inhibit scratch face action compare with natural withdrawal team.[Conclusion] Total extract of Dactyicapnos scandens could significantly inhibit withdrawal syndrome in morphine dependent mice.
