Superovulation of Boer goat and F1 hybrids of Boer and Guanzhong milk goat

Eight goats including seven F1 hybrids of Boer goat and Guanzhong milk goat and one Bore goat were inserted vaginal sponges and injected with estradiol benzoate 2 mg.After 7 days,these goats were divided into two groups at random and began to superovulation.The first group was muscle injected with FSH dissolved in physiological saline solution in every morning for 4 days.The doses were 150,100,50, 50 IU respectively .The second group was single muscle injected with FSH 250￣300 IU dissolved in 300 g/L polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP).Two groups were removed vaginal sponges and injected with 15methylprosta glandin F2(PGF2)0.6 mg under skin 3 days after treatment. The first group was injected again in fourth morning .Goats were fertilized through artificial insemination after estrus.Embryo recovered by surgery at sixth day.The average number of useful embryos is 9.5 from the former group while 10.3 from the latter .The difference between the numbers is not significant(P>0.05).This showed that it can improve superovulation result if goat is inserted with vaginal sponges combined with using estradiol,applying time of vaginal sponges is shortened as well.The single injection with FSH dissolved in PVP makes superovulation program simply and get embryos transfer of goats more feasible in production.
