Rht 3基因在杂种小麦中的利用

摘 要:
在T型细胞质雄性不育系(保持系)中导入Tom Thumb(大拇指矮)的Rht 3基因,育成显性矮秆雄性不育系。1983—1985年连续三年鉴定结果,由显性矮秆不育系配制的杂种小麦,产量可超过高产常规品种的15%左右,株高75—85em,有极强的抗倒性。 具有Rht 3的矮秆不育系与中高秆恢复系的杂种F_1株高,可由不育系或恢复系的株高调节。Rht 3与株高修饰因子的结合,能产生40—80cm的矮秆(或半矮秆)系。掌握不同株高的不育系和恢复系,可配制适合某一要求的半矮秆杂种小麦。利用Rht 3矮秆不育系配制半矮秆杂种小麦,如同利用Rht 1,Rht 2选育半矮秆纯系品种一样,都会在小麦育种中发挥作用。

摘 要:
A new type of short statue wheat with Rht 3 gene was developed by crossing Tom Thumb to common wheat cultivars. The Rht 3 near-isogenic lines or dwarfness lines were continually transferred into male sterile lines with T. timopheevi cytoplasm and hybrid wheats were made by using tall or mid-tall restorer lines. The hybrid wheats had plant height of 75-85 cm and were called semidwarf hybrid (SDHW). Yield tests were conducted during the period 1983-1985.
The SDHW can produce about 15% more grain than high yielding cultivars, and has very strong capacity of lodging resistance. The plant height of SDHW is controlled by both dwarfing male sterile lines and tall or mid-tall restorer, lines. Rht3, combined with plant height-modifying gene(s) in common wheat cultivars, can produce various degrees of dwarfness. Using different dwarfness lines and restorer lines, hybrid wheat of certain plant height can be formed. The role which Rht 3 plays in hybrid wheat breeding may be as important as that of Rht 1 and Rht 2 genes having played in semidwarf wheat cultivar breeding.
