摘 要:
In the present paper 2 species of the genus Sporobolus (Gramineae) are recognized in Sichuan, viz, S. fertilis (Steud. ) W. D. Claytonand, S. diander ( Retz. ) Beauv. S. fertilis was previously wrongly determined as S. elongatus R. Br. , S. indicus (L. ) R. Br. form. spiciformis T. Koyama, S. indicus var. purpureo-suffusus (Ohwi ) T, Koyama form. spiciformis T, Koyama, and S, poiretii (Roem, et Schult. ) Hitchc. in some literatures in China. In fact, S. elongatus R. Br, is an endemic in Australia and readily recognized by the short ( 0.5-2 cm), distant, raceme-like panicle branches densely crowded with dark green spikelets, grain conspicuously truncate, the top almost concave; stamens 2. S. indicus ( L. ) R. Br. is distinguished by manner in which the lemma and palea closely invest the grain, scarcely exceeding it in length. The large (l-l,3mm), oblong to oblong-elliptic grain of S. indicus is of diagnostic value. And, it is distributed in North America, Central and South America, West Indies. N. L. Bor (1960) studied the material at Kew. He considered S, poiretii (Roem, et Schult ) Hitchc. a synonym of S. indicus. In 1962, Tetsuo Koyama regarded it as a variety of S. indicus, viz. S. indicus var. exilis ( Trin. ) T. Koyama. In 1965, W. D.. Clayton agreed with N. L. Bor The mature grains of the plants named S. elongatus and S. indicus in China are reddish or red-brownish in color, obovoid-ellipsic, with their lemma and palea exceeding the grain by up to its own length, gaping open beyond its top; stamen 3. Therefore, the author suggests that the correct name be Sporobolus fertilis ( Steud. ) W. D. Clayton.
