Situation and Development for Kiwifruit Grading in the A Region of Shanxi Province

Kiwifruit grading is important to increase the added value and enhance the market competitiveness,and is also important to the kiwifruit industry.,A sample survey in seven towns of the A region was conducted at March 31 and April1,2013. Investigations including farmers,businessmen,buyers and company owners who were related to kiwifruit grading. In this study,297 valid questionnaires were collected from 300 questionnaires that being distributed. Main contents of the questionnaire including current situation of kiwifruit grading,variety,grading index,grading equipment,and grading awareness. Based on that,a system diagram was developed to describe the circulation of the kiwifruit industry.By analyzing the current situation of kiwifruit grading in terms of hierarchical consciousness,grading standards,grading methods,grading equipment,some recommendations were proposed,such as establish the supervision system,formulate a scientific grading standard,research grading methods based on the image data of the fruit,and study different grading systems varied to grading scale.
