1987年8月1—12日,在澳大利亚和新西兰召开了第五届国际滑坡会议。会议的目的,是增强防治滑坡危害的国际合作,交换防治滑坡的信息,改善防治滑坡危害的各种方法。会议的议题包括城市的滑坡问题,滑坡专题研究,滑坡的预防和监测,滑坡危害的标记,滑坡的分类,滑坡的防冶措施及其效益。大会组织了野外考察,并参观了设在奥卡塔里的新西兰水土保持中心的工作场地、实验室、计算机室、数据记录设备和科学管理。

摘  要：
This paper introduces the information about the 5th International Conference and Field Workshop on Landslides. The purpose of the Workshop/Conference is to foster international co-operation for landslide control. It is suggest that preventive measures for landslide control should be paid attention before landslide happen, to avoid unnecessary economic lost.
