Job′s tears was used as materials,a field of experiment was carried out to study the effects of zinc stress on seed germination and seedling growth of Job′s tears in greenhouse. In order to provide some reference for exploring the possible mechanism of Job′s tears resistance to heavy metal zinc stress. The results indicated that high concentration of zinc sulfate(80 mg·L~(-1) and 100 mg·L~(-1)) presented a significant decrease in germination rate, germination potential and germination index;however, low concentration of zinc sulfate(20 mg·L~(-1)) could significantly inhibit the growth of seedlings, and the effect of zinc sulfate on roots was much greater than that on seedlings. With the increase of zinc sulfate concentration,MDA content and relative conductivity of leaves decreased slightly at first and then increased significantly, while SOD activity increased slightly at first and then decreased significantly. With the increase of zinc sulfate concentration proline content increasd, while chlorophyll a、chlorophyll b and carotenoid content decreased significantly.
