A(outer surface protein A,OspA)、外膜蛋白C(outer surface protein C,OspC)的新城疫病毒样颗粒(virus-like particles,VLPs),形成了含有伯氏疏螺旋体抗原表位的新城疫病毒样颗粒,为之后研制莱姆病疫苗提供了新思路、新想法。

Lyme disease, caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi, is a zoonotic disease through the bite of infected ticks. Companion animals have always suffered from tick infestations and then increased the risk of humans infected with the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi through biting of ticks from itselives. However, there is no effective methods for Lyme disease treatments. Therefore, in current study, we developed two novel Newcastle disease virus-like particles(VLPs) vaccine candidates co-expressing either outer surface protein A(OspA) or outer surface protein C(OspC) of Borrelia burgdorferi via replacing the extracellular domain of the Newcastle disease virus hemagglutinin-neuraminidase protein(HN). Taken together, our current results indicated that the Newcastle disease virus-like particle vaccine expressing the candidate epitopes of Borrelia burgdorferi provides new ideas for the development of Lyme disease vaccines.
