广州大学生对龟类的消费及保护意识现状调查

摘  要：
龟类消费是导致其猎捕和贸易的根本原因。广州是中国龟类贸易和消费的中心,本研究以广州地区受教育程度高的大学生为对象,采用问卷调查法,研究了该群体对龟类的消费和保护意识现状。结果表明:(1)广州大学生对龟类的消费比较普遍,有59.6%的人吃龟,12.2%的人特意吃野生龟,21.5%的人消费龟制品,29.7%的人养宠物龟,20.7%的人放生龟。(2)性别、年龄、家庭收入对广州大学生龟类食用消费有显著影响(P<0.05),男性食用消费比女性普遍,年龄越大、家庭收入越高,食用消费龟类的人数比例越高;学历、家庭收入、籍贯对龟类放生有显著影响(P<0.05),学历越低、家庭收入越高,放生龟类的人数比例越高,广东人较其他省份的人更喜欢放生龟。(3)广州大学生龟类保护知识不足,保护意识不强,95.7%的人对龟类濒危现状缺乏了解,69.7%的人没有龟类鉴别知识,52.6%的人不了解有关保护法律,31.8%的人对外来龟类放生的生态风险缺乏认识。

摘  要：
Consumption demand for turtles is the primary cause of over harvesting and trade.Guangzhou is a major center for turtle trade and consumption in China.Using a questionnaire,this study investigated university students' conservation awareness and consumption of turtles in Guangzhou.China.We assigned the main findings to three groups as follows.(1) Purchase of turtles was common amongst university students in Guangzhou both for food and medicine,and as pets or for release;59.6%of students were turtle buyers and their reasons included nourishment(66.3%),enjoying the flavor(29%) and medicinal use(20.7%);12.2%deliberately ate wild turtles;21.5%consumed turtle products;29.7%kept pet turtles;and 20.7%ultimately released their captive turtles into the wild.(2) Gender,age,and family income significantly influenced turtle use(P < 0.05);male students ate turtles more frequently than did female students;increased age and higher family income were linked to increased turtle consumption;education,family income and birth place had a significant influence on turtle release(P <0.05);lower education and higher family income were linked to increased turtle release,and Cantonese showed a higher tendency to release turtles than did people from other provinces.(3) Guangzhou university students had very limited knowledge of turtle conservation issues and showed weak conservation awareness;95.7%of the students knew little or nothing about the endangered status of turtles;69.7%knew nothing about turtle identification;52.6%knew nothing about the laws and regulations concerning turtle conservation;and 31.8%knew nothing about the ecological risk of releasing exotic turtle species.
