To understand the infection status of gastrointestinal parasites in Zhaosu horses in summer and autumn,a dynamic test for gastrointestinal parasitic infection was conducted in 70 Zhaosu horses from the Zhaosu Army Horse Farm, horse breeding center and part of the herdsmen using a conventional examination method of parasitic etiology. The results showed that the Zhaosu horses were infected with 7 kinds of gastrointestinal parasites in summer and autumn, including Strongylus equinus,Parascaris equorum,Capillaria,Diplotriaena nochti Hoeppli et Hsu,Oxyuris equi,Strongyloides westeri and equine coccidian, and their infection rates were 83. 17%,74. 87%,25. 63%,7. 48%,5. 78%,5.12% and 4. 02%,respectively,and most of the infections were mixed infections. The parasitic eggs per gram(EPG) reached the highest in August, while the number of parasitic eggs per gram of feces was up to 394. The result indicates that August is the best period for deworming.
