摘  要：
五四运动既是思想文化上的启蒙运动,也是救亡爱国运动。梁启超与五四运动有着很深的渊源关系。戊戌变法失败后,梁启超亡命日本,倡导“新民”学说和“文界革命”,反省传统,介绍西方资产阶级学说,是五四新文化运动的思想先驱,对五四知识分子产生了极大的影响。第一次世界大战结束后,游历欧洲的梁启超以私人身份旁听巴黎和会,维护中国权益,及时将巴黎和会损害中国主权的消息传到国内,点燃了五四爱国运动的导火线。虽然梁启超晚年思想渐趋保守,但他仍然以积极的姿态参与五四新文化运动,对新文化运动所追求的个性独立、民主自由、科学精神、道德革命表示赞许,他是新文化运动的辩护者而非敌对者。欧游归国后,梁启超高度评价五四运动的意义,希望五四运动变外交的国民运动为内政的国民运动,建议青年致力于文化运动以光大五四运动的价值。同时对五四运动中科学万能论、科学口号化等缺点进行了反思。

摘  要：
The May 4th Movement was not only an enlightenment of thoughts and culture,but also a patriotic movement to save the nation from extinction.There was a deep relation between Liang Qichao and this Movement.After the failure of Reform Movement of 1898,Liang Qichao,who fled to Japan,exercised great influence on the May 4th intellectuals by advocating the "New Citizen" Doctrine and "Literary Revolution",introducing the Western ideas,and reflecting on the tradition.After the First World War,Liang Qichao traveled to Europe,attended the Paris Peace Conference unofficially,protected Chinese national interests,and sent back to China timely the messages that China's sovereignty interests were impinged,igniting the fuse of the May 4th patriotic movement.Growing conservative in his later life,he still actively participate in May 4th New Culture Movement,approving the pursuing of individual independence,freedom and democracy,science spirit,and morals revolution endorsed by the movement.Therefore,he was not an opponent but a defender of the movement.Liang Qichao highly appraised the significance of May 4th Movement after the repatriation from Europe in the hope of turning a diplomatic movement into a domestic movement and promoting the values of May 4th Movement by urging the young to plunge into the New Culture Movement.However,he also reflected on the drawbacks of the almighty science,sloganization of science etc.
