昆虫学报于1950年9月创刊,今年进入第二个十年。际此第十卷开始刊行之时,总结过去十年的工作经验和提出自第十卷起改进工作的意见应当是有益的,尚希广大的读者群众多予教正。 昆虫学报最初用“中国昆虫学报”的名称问世,至第二卷起始改用今名。由于开始时是季刊而第一卷又自9月始刊,所以第一、二两卷是跨年的。为了使每卷自岁首开始,

摘  要：
"Acta Entomologica" started publication in 1950, at first under the name "Annales Entomo-logici Sinici". In the first nine volumes, a total of 334 papers by 326 contributors have beenpublished. As these contributors (including 13 foreign contributors) are widely distributed overthe country, this fact indicates the extensive scale on which entomological research is being per-sued in present-day China. An analysis of the papers by contents shows that 58.5% of the papersdeal with the applied phase of entomology and 41.5% on the more theoretical problems of thescience. With the commencement of the tenth volume of the journal, it is hoped that it will havethe privilege of publishing more papers that reflect the current trends in agricultural practice,health program, and developments in the utilization of insect resources. An urge is made to havepreliminary results of researches that require more time to complete, published as "Scientific Notes"in the Acta. In view of the rapid development and extension of modern science, it is recom-mended that authors consider the preparation of comprehensive reviews to satisfy a need that isbecoming increasingly more urgent. Finally a discussion is made on some problems encountered in the editorial work of theActa. These relate to: length of paper, preparation of abstracts and literature citations.
