The experiment aimed to examine the effects of stratification combined with GA3 treatments on breaking dormancy of two different types of wild apricot(Armeniaca Vulgaris Lam.),sweet and bitter kernel type. Both of those two types were soaked in 100 mg or 200 mg /L GA3 solutions for 12 h or 24 h respectively combined with stratification treatment at-4°C for 30 days. The germination percentage and the elongation rate of radicles were increased by 2.9 and 4.6 times in comparison with the solely stratification treatment in seeds of sweet kernel type. And for bitter kernel type, the germination percentage was slightly increased under 100mg/L GA3 for 12h combined with stratification treatment, and the elongation rate of radicle was increased by 2 times. These results indicated that the method of treatment with low temperature and GA3 had more beneficial effect on breakage dormaey of sweet apricot kernel than that of bitter one .
