摘 要：
IUFRO is an influential international union of forest research established in year 1892."Monitoring of Tropical Forests in Xishuangbanna by Remote Sensing"is an article of proceedings of the IUFRO centennial meeting. The article mainly include mapping forest vegetation in a scale of 1∶200 000 by applying multisensor remote sensing data, estimating the forest timber volume by applying multistage remote sensing data, monitoring the forest dynamic change by applying multitemporal remote sensing data. In this method, the information gained from remote sensing was combined with the data from sample plots setting up, thus it fully develops the potential of remote sensing information.
