We studied the photosynthetic characteristics of Larix gmelini seedlings after different intensity tending in the natural L. gmelini timber forest in Daxing'an Mountains. After tending felling, the light condition for seedlings was improved obviously in each cutting samples, and the photosynthetic indexes including net photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, the concentration of environmental CO2,the concentration of intercellular CO2,the light intensity of leaf surface, and leaf temperature were higher than those in the control sample. The diurnal variation of net photosynthesis rate presented a one peak curve, and the relationship between light intensity and net photosynthetic rate presented quadratic equation with one unknown, and with the increase of the heat, the net photosynthetic rate was increased first and then decreased. In the sample with tending intensity of 20. 86%- 40. 01%,Larix gmelini seedling had the best photosynthetic indexes with the strongest adaptability to temperature.
