The paper analyses and recognizes the history and present condition of agriculture development,and sums up the 5 characteristics of contemporary agriculture development: (1)the sustainable farming is the ideological trend of contemporary agriculture;(2)the precision technology and management is the orientation of contemporary agriculture;(3)the installation farming is main current of the contemporary agriculture;(4)the security of farming product is the basic demand of the contemporary agriculture;(5)the ecological agriculture is the tendency of the contemporary agriculture.
