Dilution plate culture method was used to measure the number, major physiological groups and distribution regularity of microorganisms in rhizosphere and non-rhizosphere soils in the primitive Korean pine and broad-leaved forest in Liangshui Nature Reserve,Xiaoxing'anling. The soil microorganisms in the primitive Korean pine and broad-leaved forest show an evidently vertical changing regularity, namely, the soil microorganisms mainly concentrate in 0~20 cm soil layer. The total amount of microorganisms at 10 cm soil layer reaches its maximum(432.1×106 CFU per gram of dry soil),and the number of microorganisms decreases with the soil layer deepening. The quantity of rhizosphere microorganisms is more than that of non-rhizosphere.Among the soil microorganisms, bacteria are dominant, accounting for 89%,and then followed by actinomyces(7%) and fungi(4%).For the major physiological groups in the primitive Korean pine and broad-leaved forest, azotobacter, cellulose decomposing bacteria and phosphobacteria exhibit a decreasing trend in quantity.
