The Testing Centre was established in 1979 and ratified to be an Agricultural Testing Station of Shanghai Testing Centre in China byShanghai Municipal Science and Technology Committee in the same year.The staff of the Testing Centre counts up to 30 now.There are sixsections in the Testing Centre,namely Electronic Microscope Section,Chromatographic Analysis Section,Spectral Analysis Section,Biochemi-cal Analysis Section,Electronic Computer Section,Light Source Section and a Glassware workshop,equipped with 25 pieces(sets)of large pre-cision testing and analysing instruments such as JEM-1200 Transmission Electronic Microscope,JXA-840 Scanning Electronic Microscope,Wa-ters HPLC and Beckman HPLC,Hitachi 180-80 Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer,Shimadzu UV-3000 Ultraviolet Spectrophotometer,Pekin-Elmer 684 Infrared Spectrophotometer,SCP-85H Refrigerated Ultracentrifuge,GAMMA 5500 Counting System,5801 Liquid ScintillationCounter,Beckman 890M Protein/Polypeptide Sequencer,DNA Synthesizer,Microcomputers and so on,a modernized agro-testing and analyzingcentre at certain scale has come into being.
