Bioactivities of the extracts from bamboo gathered from Guande County (Anhui Province, China), against aphid were reported. Results of bioassay in laboratory showed that the extracts from the selective bamboos, at their dose of 10 g/L, had very strong contacting toxicity and relatively higher antifeeding activity to Lipaphis erysimi. After 24 hours, the antifeeding median concentractions (AFC 50 ) of the extracts from Maojin bamboo, Baiwen Duansui bamboo, Ku bamboo, Juxian Ku bamboo to L. erysimi were 2.696, 2.523, 2.555, 1.377 g/L, respectively. The antifeeding activites of Juxian Ku and Baiwen Duansui bamboo were relatively stable, AFC 50 of which were 2.792 g/L and 1.670 g/L, after 48 hours, respectively. The extracts of Maojin bamboo, Baiwen Duansui bamboo, Huishui bamboo, Mao bamboo. Qingpi bamboo, and Juxian Ku bamboo showed very strong contacting toxicity, and their rectified mortality rates were above 90% after 72 hours. After 48 hours LC 50 of the extracts from Maojin bamboo and Baiwen Duansui bamboo were 0.345 2 g/L and 0.322 g/L, respectively.
