This experiment was conducted to study the effects of dietary selenium and vitamin E supplemental levels on laying performance and egg quality of Cherry Valley breeding ducks. A total of 6 480 healthy Cherry Valley breeding ducks aged 50 weeks were randomly divided into 6 groups with 4 replicates per group and 270 ducks per replicate( including 220 female ducks and 50 male ducks). Seven experimental diets were designed by using a 2 × 3 two-factor experimental design with 2 selenium supplemental levels( 0. 125 and 0. 250 mg / kg) and 3 vitamin E supplemental levels( 50,100 and 200 mg / kg). The experiment lasted for 17 weeks( 50 to 66 weeks of age). The results showed as follows: 1) both dietary selenium and vitamin E supplemental levels had significant effects on laying rate and fertilization rate( P < 0. 05),while had no significant effects on qualified egg rate, fertilization rate, fertilization egg hatching rate, healthy chicken rate and egg weight( P > 0. 05). Compared with lowselenium( 0. 125 mg / kg) group, the laying rate and fertilization rate in high selenium( 0. 250 mg / kg) group were significantly increased( P < 0. 05). Ducks in 100 mg / kg vitamin E group had significantly higher laying rate and fertilization rate than those in 50 mg / kg vitamin E group( P <0. 05),while which had no significant difference compared with ducks in 200 mg /kg vitamin E group( P >0. 05). The interaction effect of selenium and vitamin E supplemental levels had no significant effect on laying performance( P > 0. 05). 2) Dietary selenium supplemental level had a significant effect on eggshell thickness( P < 0. 05),while had no significant effects on egg proportion, eggshell weight, yolk ratio, yolk color,Haugh unit and eggshell strength( P > 0. 05). Dietary vitamin E supplemental level had significant effects on eggshell thickness, yolk ratio and yolk color( P < 0. 05),while had no significant effects on egg proportion, eggshell weight,Haugh unit and eggshell strength( P > 0. 05). The interaction effect of selenium and vitamin E supplemental levels had significant effects on eggshell weight and eggshell strength( P < 0. 05). Among them, high selenium( 0. 250 mg / kg) and high vitamin E( 200 mg / kg) group had the biggest eggshell weight and eggshell strength. In conclusion,in this experimental conditions,Cherry Valley breeding ducks have better laying performance and egg quality when dietary supplemented with 0. 250 mg / kg selenium and 200 mg / kg vitamin E.
