六种常用治蚜药剂对棉株生长和棉花产量的关系

摘  要:
植棉的最後目的是棉花产量,因此使用杀虫药剂时除注意其杀虫效力外,更应注意其对於棉株生长和棉花产量的关系,为了这个目的我们从1948年起到1953年止6年间先後把六种常用的治蚜药剂作了试验,现在把这些试验结果整理出来,供给有关的工作同志参考。

摘  要:
These experiments were conducted in the experimental feild of theInstitute of Entomology, Academia Sinica, Peking, China from 1948 to 1953.Six common aphidocides were used, they are derris root powder, tobacco leafand plant ash, tobacco leaf and lime, cotton seed oil soap, hexachlorobenzeneor 666 and parathion or E605. In the course of development of the cottonplant, the following items were observed: 1. height of cotton plant, 2. numberof fruiting branches, 3. number of vegetative branches, 4. number of squares, 5. number of blossoms, 6. number of bolls, 7. number of fallen squares, 8.number of fallen bolls, 9. time of maturing, 10. yield of seed cotton. Besides,the net income was calculated by taking out the costs of insecticide and laborfrom the price of cotton yield. Based upon the above observations, the six aphidocides, according to theireffectiveness and in relation to yield, can be lined up as follows: Derris rootpowder, tobacco leaf and plant ash, tobacco leaf and lime, E605, 666, and cottonseed oil soap. From the standpoint of yield of seed cotton, the experiments show thatthe yields were higher in the years of 1948, 1950, 1951 and 1953 and the highestyield was 530 chin per mou. While in 1949 and 1952, the yields were only126 chin and 344 chin per mou respectively. Derris root powder gave a betterresult for the yield of seed cotton which was 71 to 247 chinper mou higher thanthat of the check. Tobacco leaf and plant ash ranked in the second place,resulting in increase in the yield of 61 to 293 chin per mou. Tobacco leaf-lime was the third and increased the yield from 45 to 257 chin per mou. Although the causes of falling of squares and bolls are complex, yet theaphidocide-treated cotton plants always had less squares and bolls fallen ascompared to untreated check. No other bad effects of E605 and 666 have beenobserved on the development of the cotton plant, except that the number ofbolls was less than that of the tobacco leaf solution treated ones and conse-quently the yields were lower. Cotton seed oil soap was comparatively unfa-vorable to cotton plant development and also to yield.
