This paper is based on the comprehensive system of fertilizer practic- es,the establishment and senescence of vegetative organs,the pattern of transport and distribution of substance as well as the formation of grain weight for investigating the changes of some major physiological charact- ers of each organ of wheat plants with different maturing phases in the formative process of grain weight.From the point of view about fertilizer application and nutritional physiology,the reasons of occurance of differ- ent maturing phases and of leading to the difference in the formation of grain weight are all expounded.Furthermore,the operational system of fe- rtilizer application for raising the grain weight and trying to reach the normal maturing phase under the conditions of higher yield is also propo- sed theoretically according to this research result.As for the concept of maturing phase,besides defining by the appearance of form and coluor pha- se,and also defining by the relationships between source,sink and flow during the formative process of grain weight,gives a new content.
