We undertood field surveys and data analysis on breeding habitat of eurasian spoonbill(Platalea leucorodia)during 2011-2012 in Qixinghe National Nature Reserve,Heilongjiang Province.Reed wetland in the reserve was the main breeding habitat for eurasian spoonbill.Principal Component Analysis(PCA) showed the selection of breeding habitat was related to plant height, plant density, plant diameter and water depth, the contribution rates were 43.6%,18.5%,15.7%and 13.4%respectively.Habitat selection was positively correlated with plant height and plant density, and negatively correlated with plant diameter:eurasian spoonbill nested and bred in habitats with greater plant height and density but thinner plant diameter.Normal Distribution Analysis showed theoretical optimal breeding habitat of eurasian spoonbill should meet four conditions:(1)Plant height of 209±5.75 cm;(2) Plant density of 64/m~2 ±4.92 stems/m~2;(3) Plant diameter of 0.64±0.04 cm;and(4)Water depth of 59.7±0.98 cm.
