摘  要：
随着数字图书馆产业的蓬勃兴起,涌现出了一批专业的数据库生产商,其所生产的数字文献动辄几百GB甚至若干TB的数量级,许多购买数字产品的用户不得不频繁的升级他们的存储硬件及其他相关设施,已经不堪重负。鉴于此,文章探讨了数据压缩技术在数字图书馆中的应用问题。

摘  要：
With the development of digital library,a lot of database producers came forth.The digital production produced from hundreds of GB to TB,their customers had to upgrade their stored hardware again and again.Does the digital producer indeed need so large storage space? Is there any way to solve this issue? Based on this situation,the author has discussed the issues on the application of compression technology in digital libraries.
