On the basis of generalizing the domestic and foreign literature in recent years dealing with power electronics technology, Flexible AC Transmission System (FACTS) and var compensation technology, this paper in detail introduces the principles, characteristics, domatic and foreign present status of var compensation divices, and anticipates the development tendency.
