In order to broaden the gene resources for wheat breeding, the agronomic traits of 94 turgidum landraces collected from Sichuan,Shaanxi,Gansu,Henan and other province, were investigated using analysis of variance, correlation, principal component.Higher variations in the eight agronomic traits were observed. The higher plant height, more spikelets and kernels per spike, lower 1000-grain weight and longer growing time were found to be the main characters of those landrace. The correlation analysis indicated high plant height could lead to more spikelets, and 1000-grain weight was most affected by growing periods. The results suggested that the original environment was important for the agronomic performance of landraces.Based on the principle elements analysis, six principle elements were obtained, which contributes variance over 91%,especially the spikelet type(31.75%).In conclusion, more spikelets and kernels per spike were the most valuable traits in turgidum landraces, and could be utilized in wheat breeding.
