Effect of flooding stress on hormones and cell solute in Ginkgo leaf was studied. The results showed the content of GA_(1+3),IAA and ZRs in leaf was obviously decreased under the flooding stress and their contents were separately 7.13,3.27,9.67 nmol/g at the(35~(th)) day after the flooding stress. With normal water supplied, the content of ABA in leaf was 4.74~8.57 nmol/g and the lower level was kept from beginning to end which content was separately 15.35, 18.41,20.56,22.63,and 24.91 nmol/g at the fifth, tenth, fifteenth, twentieth and twenty-fifth day after of the flooding stress.Under the flooding stress, its content was obviously increased and adding range appeared the tendency of going up with further stress was.The contents of total soluble sugar in water, reducing sugar, sucrose and proline wene increased in Ginkgo leaf. However the contents of starch and protein obviously decreased under the flooding stress. With normal water supplied, the content of proline in leaf was 22.21~30.08 mg/g,with lower level from beginning to end,but the content of proline in leaf was rapidly increased under the flooding stress.
