Effects of water-soluble extracts from Camellia oleifera seed on performance and intestinal microflora of Guangxi local broilers were studied in this trial.A total of 800 one-day healthy broilers were randomly assigned to 4 groups, control, test group Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ,with 4 replicates of 50 birds each group. The experimental time was 51 days, which was divided into 3 phases(1~20 day,21~39 day and 40~51 day). The control group were added 5 mg/kg Enramycin in the basal diet, while test group Ⅰ,Ⅱ and Ⅲ were fed with basal diets supplemented with 300 mg/kg Camellia oleifera polysaccharides,500 mg/kg Camellia oleifera saponin,300 mg/kg Camellia oleifera polysaccharides and 300 mg/kg Camellia oleifera saponin, respectively. The results showed that the average daily gain and feed conversion rate of broilers in all test groups were similar to those of control group(P > 0.05),the average daily feed intake of test groupⅠand Ⅱ were higher significantly than that of control and test group Ⅲ during 40~51 day(P < 0.05).Dietary supplementation of Camellia oleifera seed extracts decreased the sum of E.Coli in cecum(P > 0.05) and showed positive effect on the colonization of Lactic bacteria(P < 0.05).The results suggested that water-soluble extracts from Camellia oleifera seed can promote the growth performance and optimize the microbial ecosystem of intestine.
