NBS(nucleotide-binding site) is one of the largest disease-resistant gene families in plant species.Camelina sativa,an important energy and oilseed crop, has high resistance to pests, pathogens and weeds. However, molecular mechanism of such resistance remains unknown. Here,a genome-wide identification of NBS resistance genes was conducted using HMM(hidden markov model) scan strategy against camelina protein database, and further validated by bioinformatics tools.A total of 472 NBS genes were identified with uneven distributions in 17 chromosomes.56% of NBS genes were located in gene clusters, and most of them were in tandem duplication.Phylogenetic analysis showed that different evolution mechanism of TIR-NBS-LRR(TNL) and CCNBS-LRR(CNL) may affect their roles in defending against pathogens. The present findings could provided a scientific reference for further identifying and cloning new disease-resistant genes, and understanding mechanism underlying high disease resistance in camelina.
