歇后语的英译是习语翻译中的一大难题。比喻生动形象而又浅显易懂的歇后语,可以采取直译;有些歇后语由于文化和语言上的差异,采用套译更容易被读者接受;对于具有浓郁民族特色的比喻歇后语以及双关歇后语可采用直译加意译、直译加注释、意译等方式。
