The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of micro-storage rice straw on body weight gain of finishing cattles on the finishing performance of the beef cattles.Sixteen healthy cattle with the similar age, conformation and weight(about 200kg)which crossbred by red Angus bull and Simmental cow had were randomly allotted into two groups. One group was the control group and the other was the treating group. There were eight cattles in each group with eight replicates and replicate per one cattle. A single factor randomized blockdesign was used in the experiment. The cattle in the control group were fed the basal diet with rice straw where the cattle in the treating group were fed the basal diet with micro-storage rice straw. The duration of the preliminary experiment was 15 d and the duration of the formal experiment was 31 d. The results showed as follows:The average daily gain of the group fed with micro-storage rice straw was higher than that of the control group, and the average daily gain of the group fed with micro-storage rice straws was higher than that control of the group by 3.5% which the economic benefit increased by 1.28 yuan per cattle per day.
