The physiological indexes of drought-resistance, including the maximum osmotic potential (π_0) under saturated moisture content, osmotic potential(π_p), relative water contents (RWCπ_p), relative osmotic water contents(ROWCπ_P) and astricted water contents (AWC) in the twigs at the beginning of the separated point between cytoplasm and cell wall, for the four conifer species (Pinus tabulaeformis, P. armandi, P. bungeana and Sabina chinensis) were studied by pressure-volume technique. The results show: A. The changes of the π_0 and π_p values of the first three in different seasons exhibit the same trends, but it's different from the last one. B. The trends of the ROWCπ_P and RWCπ_p values of the four conifers in different seasons are unanimous. C. The AWC values change with the seasons indistinctively. D. Drought-resistancs of the four conifers are different indicated by water physiological indes.
