Behavioral plasticity is used to match the response of many small mammals to changes in environment and food, so as to improve their survival under different environmental conditions. In the present study, this paper studied the daily activity behavior of Eothenomysmiletus food restricted and re-feeding in Hengduan Mountains region. The results showed that there were significant differences in the total daily activity behavior of the E. miletus in Xianggelila(XGLL) and Jianchuan(JC) areas in winter. Region and time had significant differences in the activity of the E. miletus in the two areas. After re-feeding, the activity of the E. miletus increased and gradually returned to the control level. E. miletus in XGLL area decreased their activity behavior on the first day of food restriction, while those in JC area increased their activity behavior. Moreover, the decrease of the activity behavior of the E. smiletus in XGLL area was higher than that in JC area on 28 day under food restriction. After re-feeding, the activity of E. smiletus in XGLL area increased more on 29 day than in JC area. These results indicate that the activity behavior of the E. miletus had significant plasticity in a short period of time. At the same time, the specific adaptive response of the E. miletus plays an important role and biological significance in adapting to the unpredictable changes of food resources in Hengduan Mountains region.
