The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of different levels of mulberry leaves on the production performance, blood physiological and biochemical, and immune indexes of sows. Thisexperiment choose the similar parity and breeding time of Landrace×York sows 40 heads, they were randomly divided into 4 groups(group Ⅰ, group Ⅱ, group Ⅲ and control group), the control group wasfed with basal diet; and 5%(group Ⅰ), 10%(group Ⅱ) and 15%(group Ⅲ) mulberry leaves powder wereadded to the basal diet during the gestation period. The results showed that compared with the controlgroup, the total number of sows and the number of live births in the group Ⅱ increased by 8.5% and5.5% respectively. The ratio of monocytes, lymphocytes and monocytes decreased as the proportion ofmulberry leaves increased, there was significant difference between group Ⅰ and control group(P<0.05); the four indexes, such as the average volume of red blood cell, the average hemoglobin quantity, the average hemoglobin concentration and the blood platelet, generally showed the trend of increasingwith the proportion of mulberry leaf powder, group Ⅲ was significantly higher than control group(P<0.05). Mulberry leaves feed had no negative ef-fect on the antibody level of hog cholera virusand porcine circovirus type 2. It provides refer-ence for the development and further utilizationof mulberry leaves as feed.
