Anthracnose (caused by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz) is an important disease of mango. To study the controlling effect of the mixture of prochloraz and carbendazim (25% prochloraz and carbendazim in the proportion of 1 to 1) on mango anthracnose as compared to prochloraz and carberdazim alone, a field experiment was conducted in Danzhou, Hainan, in 2003. The results indicated that the trees sprayed with the mixture WP (diluted 600, 800, 1000 times) were lower in disease index than those in sprayed with 45% prochloraz EC (diluted 1000 times), 50% carbendazim WP (diluted 500 times) and the control. The trees sprayed with 45% prochloraz EC (diluted 1000 times) and 50% carbendazim WP (diluted 500 times) alone had no significant difference in control effect. The disease index of all the trees sprayed with the above chemicals were significantly lower than that of the water control, suggesting these chemicals had a good control effect on the anthracnose of mango. It was concluded that the mixture (WP) of 25% procchloraz and carbendazim had better effect against anthracnose of mango.
