The abandoned quarries of Huangjing Mountain in Huangshi city was studied. The correlation between soil microbial quantity and soil physical and chemical properties was discussed. The multiple linear regression and path analysis revealed that, soil water content and total nitrogen were the main influencing factors relating to the fungi amount, and soil water content was the biggest influencing factor. Organic matter, p H and available nitrogen were the main influencing factors to the bacteria amount, and organic matter was the biggest influencing factor. Organic matter and soil water content were the main influencing factors to the actinomycete amount, and organic matter was the biggest influencing factor. Available nitrogen, total nitrogen and available phosphorus were the main influencing factors to the azotobacter amount, and available nitrogen was the biggest influencing factor. The correlation between soil microbial quantity and available potassium was not found.
