This trial was conducted to study the effects of solid-state fermented rapeseed meal to replace part of soybean meal on growth performance of broilers and the suitable percentage used in the diet for broilers. One hundred and twelve 1-dayold Arbor Acre broilers with an average body weight of (37. 50 ± 0. 33) g were randomly divided into 4 treatments. Each treatment had 4 replicates and each replicate had 7 broilers. The broilers were fed corn-soybean basal diets in which part of soybean meal were replaced by 0, 5% , 10% and 15% solid-state fermented rapeseed meal, respectively. The results indicated that solid-state fermented rapeseed meal not more than 10% in diet did not affect the average daily gain (ADG) of broilers (P>0. 05), but 15% of solid-state fermented rapeseed meal significantly reduced ADG (P<0. 01) in starter (d 1-21) and grower periods (d 22-42). Fermented rapeseed meal not more than 10% in diet did not affect the average daily feed intake of broilers in each period and the feed conversion ratio (FCR) in grower and overall periods (P>0. 05). However, 10% solid-state fermented rapeseed meal increased the FCR in starter period (P<0. 05) and 15% solid-state fermented rapeseed meal increased FCR in grower and overall periods (P<0. 05). Furthermore, the indices of liver and hypothyroid were not affected when the solid-state fermented rapeseed meal was not more than 15% (P>0. 05). It was concluded that the solid-state fermented rapeseed meal could be used to replace not more than 10% soybean meal in the diet for broilers.
