This paper deals with the Chinese species of the Galerucine genus Aulacophora whichare commonly known as cucumber beetles. 18 species and subspecies are recorded ofwhich the following three are described as new. All the type specimens are kept in theInstitute of Entomology, Academia Sinica, Peking. Aulacophora nigripalpis, n. sp. Brown, the antennae and scutellum paler; elytra black, opaque, with a bluish tint andwith the apical margin usually very narrowly bordered with yellow; eyes, tibiae except thebase and tarsi black; anterior portion of labrum, apex of mandibles, labial and maxillarypalpi more or less piceous. Head almost impunctate, vertex minutely wrinkled, depressed in the middle above thefrontal tubercles, the latter transverse; eyes large and prominent. Antennae about two-thirds the length of the body, second segment very short, third to fifth almost equal tocach other in length, the following ones each slightly shorter. Pronotum twice as broad aslong, distinctly punctate at the anterior corners, sides parallel, the transverse impressionstraight, deeper at sides. Elytra closely punctate. ?: Antennae normal; first segment of anterior tarsi slightly broadened; middle lobeof last abdominal sternite oblong, shallowly foveolate at its apical half. ?: Apex of last abdominal sternite almost straigh, scarcely sinuate in the middle. Length, 6--8.5 mm. Yunnan (1956--57, Ⅲ--Ⅴ, 3 ?, 9 ?). Allied to A. boisduvali Baly, from Borneo and A. apicipes Jacoby, from Mentawei, but the former is characterized by the elytra very shining black, the latter by the thirdsegment of antennae distinctly longer than the fourth and the tibiae with the apex onlyblack. In the present species, the elytra are dull black tinged with blue, the third seg-ment of antennae is somewhat shorter or at least not distinctly longer than the fourth, andthe tibiae are largely black, having only the basal part more or less fulvous. In both thedescriptions of Baly and Jacoby, the coloration of the maxillary and labial palpi was notmentioned. Aulacophora carinicauda, n. sp. General colour reddish-brown, elytra black, not very shining. Resembling much A. cattigarensis Weise, but very distinct by the following characters:General colour more reddish; elytra somewhat opaque, more parallel-sided, more coarselyand less closely punctured; antennae longer, about three-fourths the length of the body, the third to fifth segmeats not thickened in the male; transverse impression of pronotum shallower, not touching the lateral margins; in the male, the median longitudinal area ofthe abdominal sternites is more thickly pubescent, the middle lobe of last sternite is broadlyoblong, with a median longitudinal carina at the basal half, a large depression at theapical half, and a small but distinct incision in the middle of the apex (fig. 8). Length, 6 mm. Hainan: Nada (1954, Ⅳ, 25, 1 ?) Aulacophora yunnanensis, n. sp. Pale yellow-brown, with the vertex and antennae more reddish; eyes, ante-clypeus,labrum, apex of mandibles, mesepisterna, metasternum and abdomon black; tarsi and tibiaepartly fuscous. Among the yellowish species of the genus, the present one may be known by thefollowing characters (?): Frons narrow, antennae very closely placed at their bases, separated from each other by a narrow frontal carina; eyes large, prominent, angularlyproduced at the middle of the inner margin; antennae robust, exceeding two-thirds thelengh of the body, the middle segments slightly thicker than the terminal ones; pronotumwith the transverse impression deep, almost straight, sides convex before the middle;first segment of anterior tarsi very broad, much broader than the third segment; middlelobe of last abdominal stende long, with a median longitudinal groove bounded on eitherside by a carina, apex. sinuate in the middle (fig.15) Length, 6.5--7 mm. Yunnan (1957, Ⅳ, 11--27, 2 ?).
