Introduction is made on the growth environment of cacao,its habits and characteristics of flowering and fruiting,and its present production and research situation at home and abroad.The advantages and disadvantages in development of cacao in Hainan are analyzed.Suggestions on development of cacao industry in Hainan and planting patterns are put forward.
