To explore effects of external Ca2+ on physiology and biochemistry of karst plants, the activities of POD and relative water content of Kmeria septentrionalis Dandy(calcicole),Eurycorymbus cavalerei(calcicole),Cyclobalanopsis glauca(indifference)and Pinus kwangtungensis Che(calcifuge)were measured and compared. Results showed that to Kmeria septentrionalis Dandy(calcicole),Eurycorymbus cavalerei(calcicole) and Cyclobalanopsis glauca(indifference),the activities of POD in leaves were generally low and relative water content in leaves were generally high after treated with 0 ~20 mmol/L Ca2+ concentration. The activities of POD in leaves increased or relative water content decreased after treatment with 30~50mmol/L Ca2+ concentration. As for Pinus kwangtungensis Chen(calcifuge),the activities of POD in leaves showed a sustained increasing trend or relative water content in leaves showed a sustained decreasing trend with the increase of Ca2+ concentration.
