In order to evaluate the safety of gamithromycin injection in pigs,24 70 dayold Chang Bai binary hybrid pigs were randomly divided into 4 groups with 6 pigs in each group, including the control group(normal saline),1 × recommended dose group(6 mg/kg),3 × recommended dose group(18 mg/kg) and 5 × recommended dose group(30 mg/kg). The pigs were intramuscularly injected once on 0 d,5 d,and 10 d. The secfety of gannithromgcin injection was eveclualed besed on the observetion of the clinial manifestations, meight gain, binchemcal pararuefers of blood, and the hostopathological changes in the tested pigs. The results showed that the indicators of the 1 ×,3 × and 5 × recommended doses of gamithromycin injection had no significant difference, compared with the control group(P > 0. 05). The results indicate that the 5 × recommended dose of gamithromycin injection in the target animal pigs is safe.
