The author studied the effect of La3+and Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl on micronucleus and nuclear anomalies in erythrocytes of Hemiculter leucisculus. The results showed that La3+in low concentration(0.01~0.5 mg/L) significantly decreased the frequencies of micronuclei and nuclear anomalies. The frequency of micronuclei treated simultaneously by La3+and Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl were lower than that by Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl alone, and higher than that by La3+,alternatively.However,micronuclei and nuclear anomalies were induced by La3+in high concentration(≥1 mg/L).Treatment by the both reagents led to decrease the frequencies of the damaged items.Fenoxaprop-p-ethyl resulted in increase in the frequency of micronuclei in the H.leucisculus erythrocytes, and the frequency of micronucleated erythrocytes showed a dosage-dependent elevation in certain range of concentration(0.017 25~0.345 mg/L).The author found that H.leucisculus was sensitive to the mutants, and it can be used as a suitable material for study.
