广西木鼻白蚁属四新种

摘  要：
木鼻白蚁属[Stylotermes Holmgren(syn.Operculitermes Yu et Ping)]是一个较为特殊的类群。一般为害活的树干,外形虽近似木白蚁,但属于鼻白蚁科(Rhinotermitidae)Holmgren,K.et N.(1917)最先建立木鼻白蚁亚科(stylotermitinae)仅有一种。以后经多数专家先后发表了八个新种,并对其科属地位作出了几种不同的处置。本文同意Emerson,A.(1971)意见,把本属作为鼻白蚁科的一个亚科。现在根据广西的标本经鉴定有四个新种,记述于后。

Stylotermes valvules Tsai et Ping, sp. nov.Soldier (Figs. 1A-I)This new species can be easily distinguished from the nearest species of Stylotermes sinensis (Yu et Ping) by its body color much lighter, head/mandible smaller: (1:1.23-1.49). Valvule of antennal socket shorter, pronotum with middle longitudinal line obsolete.Type locality: soldies and workers: Kwangsi: Jinxiu Yaozu Zizhixian, collected by C. M. Ping 1964. vll. 12, in a dead portion of living tree: liquidambar formosana.Holotypes: 1 Soldier and 1 worker, deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Acade-mia Sinica.Paralypes: Soldiers and workers deposited in the Huanan Tropical Crops College.Stylotermes setosus Li et Ping, sp. nov. Soldier (Pigs. 2A-G)This new species may be differentiated from its nearers as follows:1.Head, thorax, dorsal side of abdomen, antennae and legs scattered with stout, brownish, vertical bristles.2.Labrum ovoid round, tip narrow and projected, length and width subequal. Holotype: Soldier (No. 1412) Kwangsi: Longsheng Xian, collected by G. X. Li, deposited in the Kwangtung Institute of Entomollogy. Host plant: Liquidambar formosana. Stylotermes mecocephalus Ping et Li, sp. nov.Soldier (Figs. 3A-G)This new species can be easily distinguished from others by its head narrower and longer, mandibles shorter.type locality: Soldiers and workers, Kwangsi: Jingxi Xian (Yeyu) 550 in, collec-ted from an unkown sp. of living tree by C. M. Ping, 1964. VIII. 26.Holotype: 1 soldier and 1 worker, deposited in the Huanan Tropical Crops College.Paratype: 1 soldier and 1 worker deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.Stylotermes undulatus Ping et Li sp. nov. Soldier (Figs. 4A-G)This new species can be easily distinguished from other species of Stylotermes by the body medium, outer margin of mandibles undulated, mandibles slender and straight.Types locality: Soldier and worker (I. No. 3480) Kwangsi: Bose Xian (Yangyu) 400m, 1964. VIII. 8, collected by C. M. Ping in stem of Illicium verum.Holotype: soldier, deposited in the Huanan Tropical Crops College.Paratype: Soldier, deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.
