【Objective】To evaluate the relationship between egg intake level and dyslipidemia for Chinese adults. 【Method】Using data derived from China Health and Nutrition Survey( CHNS),participants who were 18 ~ 65 years old and had completed data in 2009 survey were included to assess the differences in demographic characteristics among participants with varied daily egg consumption, and to explore the risk of hypertriglyceridemia and hypercholesterolemia in adults with higher intakes of egg. 【Result】The proportion of participants whose daily egg intake was more than the recommendation of Chinese Dietary Guidelines was 25. 8%. Daily egg intake level differed by BMI,energy intake, gender, alcohol intake, education level, household income per capital and residence area. After adjusting for confounders, the risk of hypercholesterolemia in females with a high egg intake level of ≥50 g / d was 1. 26 times as high as that in females with an appropriate egg intake level of 25 ~ 50 g / d( OR = 1. 26,95% CI: 1. 01 ~ 1. 58,P = 0. 04). 【Conclusion】High level of egg intake in Chinese female adults might increase the risk of hypercholesterolemia.
